Mentees and mentors meet at school weekly across 2 school terms. Mentoring sessions run for 1 hour and aim to foster social confidence and emotional well-being for the young people participating. Activities are centred around re-engaging young people in education, and life more broadly, whilst building their job readiness skills. By the end of the program, through engaging with overarching themes of Identity, Empowerment and Growth, young people are encouraged to grow into their full potential, drawing strength from their unique identities.
The program is open to young people in Years 7-10 who could benefit from extra-curricula investment, developing their resilience amidst life’s challenges. Participation of young people in this program has contributed to developing teamwork, communication, listening, reflection and organisation skills.
The program includes excursions, cultural exchange sessions, and other workshops that expose young people to diverse learning opportunities.
